participate in the Eldorado Great Italian Festival Grape
Stomp! October 11, 2009
Lions representing the Spanish Springs, Reno Host, Carson
Valley and Sparks Greenbrae Lions Clubs took part in the
event which requires stomping of 35 pounds of fresh, Napa
Valley grapes. After three minutes the team with the most
juice in the jug wins. The 'mucker' makes sure that the
hose is clear and clean so the juice can get into the jug
held in the other hand. Work, yes, Fun, you betchya!
Winners; King Lion Suraj and Shaun Smith of Sparks
Greenbrae! The 6.4 pounds was the most amount all day on
the 11th.
Who says Lions don't know how to have fun? This is not
your Grandfather's Lions Club any more!
The Great Reno Balloon Race, September
12, 2009 - The fly-past, balloon flying the Stars and Stripes and
wish you could all hear the national anthem! One of those only in
Nevada moments!

King Lion Suraj participated in the Sierra
Nevada Senior Games on April 26th and came away with five medals
- Gold's in Standing Broad Jump, 1 mile and 3 miles walks;
silvers in Javelin and Soft Ball throw. Who says Lions are
getting old?

Westervelt, Paul Moore and Helen Linde. Each award includes a donation
to the Student Speakers Foundation.
